1. General information
The subject History and Social Sciences will show students the similarities and differences between History and Sociology and Anthropology, insisting, above all, on the value of interdisciplinarity.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/).

2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, students must demonstrate the following learning results:
Be able to critically read historiographical texts taking into account that historical debate and research are under permanent construction.
Be able to organize complex historical information in a coherent manner and to interpret it in a reasoned way.
Be able to perceive social complexity and cultural diversity and, consequently, develop a critical tolerance for positions derived from other value systems.
Understand the basic knowledge of history, as well as the specific knowledge that comes from the forefront of the field.
Acquire the capacity for critical analysis, synthesis and intellectual creativity.
3. Syllabus
1. History and the social sciences: object of study and academic developments.
* 1.1. Anthropology: evolution of the subject, methodology and relations with history.
* 1.2. Sociology: evolution of the subject and methodology. Historical sociology.
2. Society Social stratification.
3. Power.
4. Culture.
5. The socialization process. Deviance, social control and conflict.
6. The economy.
4. Academic activities
1. Theoretical classes, face-to-face, in or out of the classroom (25%). Methodology: lecture, theoretical presentations and debates to frame the basic structure and content of the subject.
2. Readings and personal work: (55%). Methodology: readings, summaries, preparations of presentations and assessment tests.
3. Practices 10% Methodology: commentary on research tools and resources, case studies, resolution of problems, presentation of audiovisuals, film forum.
4. Tutoring (7%). Methodology: student follow-up, general and specific guidance, formative evaluation.
5. Evaluation (3%). Methodology: written tests and/or oral presentations.
5. Assessment system
I. First call.
a) Continuous assessment
If the number of students enrolled is less than 25, the teacher may apply continuous evaluation: 1) Theoretical exam (50%): it will include questions related to the syllabus of the subject.
* Assessment criteria: correct wording, reasoned response, coherent, rigorous and adjusted to the questions raised.
2) Practical exercises (30% of the grade): they will be carried out during the term to check the acquisition of specific skills by the students
* Assessment criteria: appropriate use of materials, written ideas and hypotheses with the rigor of the historian.
3) Participation and volunteer work: (20% of the grade): participation in the theoretical and practical sessions, the completion of one or more exercises on a voluntary basis will be valued.
* Assessment criteria: ability to ask questions, raise hypotheses and draw conclusions on problems common to history and other social sciences
b) Global assessment test
1) A single written test that will include questions related to the syllabus of the subject and the practical exercises, which will give the option to achieve 100% of the final grade.
*Assessment criteria: equivalent to those indicated in the section “Continuous assessment system".
II. Second call
